8/2: The best news is: there's nothing new to report! We'll keep the site up for a bit to post needs and any other new messages, and maybe some pictures and stories, but other than that -- goodnight and good luck. Thanks so much to everyone for making this site what it was (SierraTel and Hank especially). You have seen, first hand, the power of citizen journalism; if "freedom of the press belongs to he who owns one," we can all own one now.

8/3: Missing Whitlock angel. This pic. on the right appeared in the Miami Herald, clearly after the home was burned, but when the owners returned to their home, which was totally destroyed, it was gone. I received this message from them this morning: "Our house was one of 21 to burn in the Telegraph fire. There was nothing left but a angel in what was a flower bed. The angel has been a symbol of hope for our family and means a lot to us. It has signicant value to us and we would like returned. We would appreciate any assistance in retriving it." If you see angel, and would like to remain anonymous, please return it to Chocolate Soup by the red outbuilding/barn. All roads open to residents! Including Sherlock, E. Whitlock, Telegraph, W. Whitlock, and Mosher. (Call on this: I am hearing conflicting reports about Sherlock. (209) 966-4784.)

Colorado and more open! According to Cal Fire: restrictions on Colorado Road from Hwy 140 to East Whitlock have been lifted, with the exception of Sherlock, which will remain closed. This will allow access to Rancheria Creek Road, Rumley Mine Road, Davis Road, Lake Side Road and other spur roads. Restrictions on East Whitlock Road will be lifted from Highway 140 to Sherlock Road. This will allow access to Foran Road, Penny Royal Lane, Paddy Hill Road and other spur roads.

West Whitlock restrictions will be lifted from Highway 49 to Whitlock Gap/ Mount Bullion Ridge Road (2.8 miles from Highway 49). This will allow access to Gold Creek Lane, Blue Oak Ridge Road, Morrissey Lane, Mount Bullion Ridge Road and Old Emerson Road. Restrictions will also be lifted on Mount Bullion Access Road.

8/1: Not related to Telegraph, but... The Gazette is reporting that the Triangle Road home of Troy and Shirley Foster, owners of True Value Hardware, burned to the ground this morning, and in an amazing and selfless act, Troy jumped on his tractor in his underwear and cut a fire line to save his neighbors' properties. Wow.
